SIN: Sin refers to disobeying or transgressing God's commandments and principles as recorded in the Bible. Since the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3), "all have sinned" (Romans 3:23). We are all, or have been, children of disobedience and wrath (Ephesians 2:2-3). The works of sin include adultery, fornication, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, witchcraft, homosexuality, hatred, quarreling, jealousy, wrath, selfish ambition, sedition, heresies, envy, murder, drunkenness, wild parties/orgies, and similar actions or thoughts (Galatians 6:19-21; I Corinthians 6:9-10; 2 Timothy 3:1-5). The Bible states that the punishment for those who choose not to repent of sin "Shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death" (Revelation 21:8).
