HOLINESS: Holiness involves living and walking in the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:25). To be "holy" means that something or someone has been sanctified, made clean, and set apart for God. When we are delivered from sin, we choose to remain free from sin's bondage and learn to "Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to the Lord, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1). Without being born again, we remain unholy despite our best efforts. However, the name of Jesus Christ, His blood, Spirit, and Word provide us with everything we need to "Cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit" (2 Corinthians 7:1). Now, we can obey the Lord's command, "Be ye holy; for I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16). Living with the Holy Ghost inside us convicts us to change our thinking, emotions, habits, dress, and activities to please God rather than ourselves. Godly holiness is not meant to judge others but to draw closer to God and express His love towards our neighbors. No wonder the psalmist wrote that we should "Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness" (Psalm 29:2).
